UAB “BALTIK VAIRAS” – one of Europe’s longest-standing private-label (OEM) bicycle manufacturers with strong expertise in advanced manufacturing solutions – is seeking a Head of Product Development to lead the company’s R&D, engineering, and product development functions.
Based in Šiauliai, Lithuania, the company is looking for a commercially minded and innovative leader capable of driving the full product lifecycle – from initial concept and innovation strategy to mass production – while inspiring and developing a high-performing team. The role requires strong cross-functional leadership, integrating R&D, operations, and commercial teams to drive innovation, manage the product portfolio, and deliver high-quality, cost-efficient, market-aligned solutions.

Key responsibilities
- Define and execute product development and innovation strategy in line with market trends, customer needs, and business objectives;
- Lead the Product Development / R&D team, delivering high-quality, cost-efficient, market-driven solutions;
- Own and oversee the full product lifecycle and project portfolio, ensuring strategic alignment, timely delivery, and efficient resource utilization;
- Ensure technical excellence, product quality, and compliance, while serving as the strategic technical lead for international clients and partners;
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on product performance, cost optimization, and process efficiency.
What we expect
- Proven leadership and a technical background (Engineering degree or a related technical field);
- Extensive experience in product development, R&D, or technical-commercial leadership roles;
- Full professional proficiency in English;
- The ability to operate effectively across diverse projects and complex cross-functional environments;
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and production processes;
- Commercial mindset with ability to translate market needs into product solutions;
- Experience in bicycle systems or similar high-precision mechanical industries would be considered an advantage;
- Interest in technology, innovation, and product development, preferably within the cycling industry.
