Paysera is looking for an Internal Auditor to lead our internal audit function. As a licensed electronic money institution, we place strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, risk management, and operational transparency. In this role, you will ensure that internal audits are carried out professionally and objectively, provide the supervisory body and management with independent, risk-based insights, and contribute to strengthening the institution's governance, risk management, and internal control processes.
Paysera is looking for an Internal Auditor to lead our internal audit function. As a licensed electronic money institution, we place strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, risk management, and operational transparency. In this role, you will ensure that internal audits are carried out professionally and objectively, provide the supervisory body and management with independent, risk-based insights, and contribute to strengthening the institution's governance, risk management, and internal control processes.
Your key responsibilities:
- Ensure the effective organization and coordination of internal audit activities;
- Plan internal audit activities by preparing annual activity plans and ensuring their implementation;
- Conduct internal control, operational, and compliance-related audits, and prepare reports on the internal audits carried out;
- Present the results of completed internal audits to management and provide proposals and recommendations for improving internal control, risk management, and governance processes;
- Monitor and control the implementation of recommendations issued by Internal Audit;
- Prepare and submit annual and periodic internal audit activity reports to the supervisory body;
- Develop and improve the internal audit methodology (procedures, internal audit conduct arrangements);
- Participate in risk assessment processes and provide the institution with consultations on governance, internal control, and risk management matters;
- Expect to perform routine daily tasks using Gemini, Claude or a similar AI tool to enhance efficiency and productivity.
What we’re looking for:
- At least 3 years of experience in internal audit (experience in a financial institution would be an advantage);
- A higher education degree in economics, law, business, management, finance (or a related field);
- Impeccable Lithuanian language skills and good English language skills;
- Knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management, and internal control principles;
- Ability to analyze processes, assess risks, and provide well-founded recommendations;
- Audit planning, organization, and reporting skills;
- Strong analytical competence and the ability to work with data;
- Effective written and verbal communication with management and other stakeholders;
- Good MS Office skills and knowledge of analytical software;
- Ability to use artificial intelligence tools to optimize work processes and seamlessly integrate these tools into daily tasks;
- Proven familiarity and experience with AI tools like Gemini, Claude and other technologies, demonstrating a capability to seamlessly integrate these into daily tasks.
Nice-to-Have:
- Knowledge of financial sector regulation (Bank of Lithuania board resolutions, EBA guidelines, PSD2, AML/CTF, international sanctions requirements);
- Professional qualification (IIA Lithuania internal auditor training completion certificate, CIA, CISA, CFSA, ACCA, or a similar certificate).
