THE ROLE: JUNIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer at Aktyvus Photonics, you will support the in-house manufacturing facility by resolving day-to-day issues related to laser system assembly and and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate root causes and prevent recurrence.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on production support, troubleshooting, process improvement, and technical documentation. It is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain practical experience in photonics, precision mechanics, and high-tech manufacturing.
THE ROLE: JUNIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer at Aktyvus Photonics, you will support the in-house manufacturing facility by resolving day-to-day issues related to laser system assembly and and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate root causes and prevent recurrence.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on production support, troubleshooting, process improvement, and technical documentation. It is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain practical experience in photonics, precision mechanics, and high-tech manufacturing.
IN THIS POSITION, YOU’LL
- Support Production: Assist with day-to-day manufacturing activities and help ensure smooth production of existing laser systems.
- Solve Problems: Investigate production issues, verify root causes, and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain Documentation: Prepare and update assembly instructions, standard operating procedures, technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Test New Solutions: Participate in testing and validation of new assembly methods, tools, and procedures before implementation in production.
- Hands-on Engineering: Support assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and improvement of production equipment and laser systems.
- Implement Improvements: Work with senior engineers to introduce practical process improvements that increase efficiency, reliability, and product quality.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Cooperate closely with R&D engineers, technicians, physicists, and manufacturing personnel to deliver robust engineering solutions.
- Learn and Grow: Continuously develop your engineering knowledge while contributing to cutting-edge laser technologies used in demanding industrial and defense applications.
ABOUT YOU
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field (or final-year student).
- CAD Skills: Experienced with SolidWorks or another 3D CAD system.
- Technical Understanding: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Hands-on Mindset: Enjoy working with hardware, assemblies, testing, and practical problem-solving.
- Attention to Detail: Capable of working accurately and methodically in a precision engineering environment.
- Problem-Solving: Curious and proactive when investigating technical issues and identifying improvements.
- Communication: Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
- Teamwork: Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Bonus Points: Experience with manufacturing processes, additive manufacturing, machining, optics, photonics, or laboratory work is considered an advantage.

SALARY
1800 – 2200 EUR gross. The final offer will depend on your specific competencies and professional experience.
