Job description
Remote US Truck Dispatcher — Dry Van / Flatbed
We are looking for an experienced Truck Dispatcher to manage dry van and/or flatbed operations in the US freight market. This is a full-time remote position for someone who can negotiate strong rates, plan profitable routes, communicate effectively with drivers and brokers, and solve problems quickly.
Working Hours
Monday through Friday
7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern must be available for the entire shift
Occasional after-hours communication may be required when operational issues arise
Responsibilities
Find and book profitable loads using DAT, Truckstop and other freight sources
Dispatch and manage dry van and/or flatbed trucks
Negotiate rates and terms with brokers
Plan efficient routes while minimizing deadhead miles
Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments
Communicate regularly with drivers, brokers and customers
Track loads from pickup through final delivery
Provide timely status updates and resolve delays or service issues
Monitor drivers’ hours of service and help maintain DOT compliance
Handle rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs and other load documents
Request detention, layover, TONU and additional service payments when applicable
Maintain accurate load information in the company’s TMS or dispatch system

Required Qualifications
At least two years of recent US truck-dispatching experience
Proven experience dispatching dry vans, flatbeds or both
Strong knowledge of the US freight market, lanes and spot rates
Experience using DAT and/or Truckstop load boards
Strong rate-negotiation and load-planning skills
Understanding of FMCSA, DOT and hours-of-service requirements
Excellent spoken and written English
Ability to communicate professionally with American drivers and brokers
Strong organization, multitasking and problem-solving skills
Reliable computer, headset, high-speed internet and quiet workspace
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing multiple trucks simultaneously
Experience with TMS and ELD systems
Knowledge of flatbed equipment, securement requirements, dimensions and weight limits
Established relationships with reputable brokers
Experience handling breakdowns, missed appointments and freight claims
