Job description
As a PHP Developer (m/f/d), you will build and enhance the backend services powering our payment platform. Working with modern technologies such as PHP, Symfony, PostgreSQL and AWS, you will develop scalable, secure and high-performance solutions used by businesses across Europe.
ALZURA Pay is part of the ALZURA Group, a German technology company with more than 20 years of experience in developing innovative digital solutions for businesses across Europe.
As part of our continued growth, we are currently establishing ALZURA Pay UAB in Lithuania and building a new development team in Vilnius. This is a unique opportunity to join us at an early stage and play a key role in shaping both our engineering organization and the future of our payment platform.
What you’ll do:

As part of our continued growth, we are currently establishing ALZURA Pay UAB in Lithuania and building a new development team in Vilnius. This is a unique opportunity to join us at an early stage and play a key role in shaping both our engineering organization and the future of our payment platform.
What you’ll do:
- Professional software development using PHP 7/8, Symfony, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, AWS (S3, SQS, API Gateway), REST APIs, and event-driven architectures
- AI supported development process with Claude
- Active shaping of the software architecture and contributions to design decisions
- Developing, testing, and documenting the planned functionality
- Working in a small, self-reliant Scrum team
- Documentation of planning and implementation processes in the project management software Jira and Confluence
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience as a PHP Backend Developer (m/f/d)
- Strong knowledge of REST API design and development
- In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL, including SQL optimization, indexing and query performance tuning
- Good understanding of Redis and caching strategies
- Proven experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures and message queues (AWS SQS or RabbitMQ)
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly S3, SQS and API Gateway
- Proficiency in Docker and Docker Compose
- Proficient english
