About the role and team:
We are looking for an engineer to join our Test team, contributing to the testing of firmware and software for various satellite subsystems. As part of this team, you’ll learn from senior colleagues eager to share their knowledge and experience. You will help ensure that the satellite’s software and firmware are thoroughly tested before launch. As we say… one mistake, and you’ve got a brick in space. Not scared? As Software Test Engineer, you will:
- Perform manual testing of new features and create detailed test cases and bug reports
- Execute manual and automated regression testing
- Use lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supply, electronic load)
- Validate software/firmware interaction with sensors and payloads
- Design high - quality test cases, documentation, and test reports
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of testing processes and strategies
- Gain a deep understanding of satellite subsystems - both hardware and software functionalities
- Collaborate closely with development teams (HW/FW/SW) to reproduce, analyze, and verify issues
We expect you to:
- Have 2+ years of experience in manual and/or automated software testing for embedded systems, hardware, firmware, or software
- Good knowledge of embedded communication interfaces/ protocols (UART, SPI, I²C, RS422/RS485)
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supply)
- Have a basic understanding of electronic circuits
- Be able to see the bigger picture and work strategically toward it
- Be results - oriented, proactive, and hands - on in daily activities
- Adapt quickly and effectively in a fast - changing environment
- Have good command of English (both spoken and written)
- Be capable of working independently and escalating issues when necessary
- Demonstrate critical thinking and strong problem - solving skills
Nice to have:
- A “bug - intolerant” mindset and ability to anticipate potential issues
- Experience working with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Basic programming or scripting skills (C++, C, C#, Bash)
- Experience with test automation tools (NI TestStand)
- Education in electronics engineering or similar field
